It’s been quite a while since I updated this page and we have a new son-in-law, so he will trump the 4-leggeds who started this page originally and move right on to Tony. He and Jazmine have been married for a while (married couple are needed for military orders – they currently reside in Monterey where Tony is a Seabee and doing construction management for the Post-Grad School), but had their party celebration with fanfare and photos in April.

Julie and Jazmine actually are the two owners of Duke(pepper) and Ziva(salt). We are just spoiling grandparents along with their super-Aunt Jenny and Uncle Mackie who are on call at all times.
Ziva is the salt and as calm is her brother Duke is, she is a prancing pony always on the move, and can be very fierce about other 4 leggeds, especially if she has her big brother around to watch her back. She has the nickname of Barracuda for that reason – hopefully she will continue to mellow out with respect to meeting new canines. She was adopted as a rescue in June of 2020 after Duke gave the J-moms the okay. Duke was rescued in October 2018 while Jazmine was still in school in Colorado. He would go on to live with Julie in 2019 in Oceanside before returning with mom so she could finish her senior year at Colorado State. Here they are looking so cute on Vinny’s bed while on a particularly cold camping trip.
Julie(left) is a licensed architect and works in Sacramento for the Fire Marshal’s s Office. Jazmine (baby is always in the center) is a biochemist working for the My Green Lab helping and certifying labs to be green, much like Leed Certification with buildings. She and her husband Tony are living in Monterey California after spending a year in Washington DC. Jenny (right) got her PhD in chemistry and works for Lumos in Carlsbad and is the first one that had to deal with what to do with the last name when you get married issue. Mackie, her husband is the dog whisperer, CPA and CFP. There is always flurry of activity in the kitchen when the family gets together.
One of my biggest concerns is that John will miss Duke too much when we are VanGoing. As the only two Y chromosomes in the our household for many years, they have an especially tight bond. You can talk to your children over the phone , but it certainly will be difficult over the Inter-webs with Duke Handsome. May need to have a temporary John evacuation to visit Duke during our travels.
